It’s been a rough year and everyone is deserving of a little vacay every once in a while. Let’s talk about where we are going this year … and more importantly the right way of doing it. Before planning a trip, the first thing I do is make a list. Who is going, where are we going, what will we be doing and for how long? This way, you know what to pack and you can plan a budget. Having an itinerary is a safe way of staying on task. Plan, plan, plan, but expect the worse. Things do happen! When it comes to packing, remember, less is more; so take ONLY what you need. And always have an emergency kit in your car … at all times. If you need more guidance, check out my previous blog on car safety kits. If you’re heading to the Lake of the Ozarks, don’t forget some skin protection. I don’t know about you all, but I’m a fair-skinned redhead who requires a high SPF. So, pack some sunscreen, towels, suits, bugspray, and aloe (for the unfortunate ones). And if you are traveling with children, you gotta keep them occupied. Bring a couple DVDs, grab a sing-a-long tape… anything to make the time fly by. Here’s some more information on keeping the kids happy. But most importantly, have a ball! Are you hitting the pavement for a summer road trip? Where are you going and what will you be driving?
