Don’t wait till the last moment! Look for the warning signs of a bad transmission before it’s too late.
1. Noises: If you’re hearing a clunking or whining noise, it’s usually a sign that you have an issue with your vehicle. Listen to what your car is trying to tell you.
2. Leaks: Red fluid on your driveway could mean two different things: you ran over some road kill or a troubling transmission.
3. Smells: Have you ever smelled that gross burning smell? That usually means low fluids, which is a result of overheated transmission fluid.
4. Hard time shifting: If your car is a manual and you’re having a hard time shifting it could be a warning sign.
5. Check engine light: Last but not least, if the check engine light comes on.
Make sure to seek repairs as soon as possible if you are experiencing any of these warning signs.
Don’t leave your furry companion at home this weekend, I’m not talking about your husband!
I have some tips for traveling with your dog.
Tip #1. Safety first! Animals should be just as secured and safe as your human passengers! Perhaps you didn’t know this but you can buy seat belts for your dog! They range in sizes, so you don’t have to worry about your small dog.
Tip #2. If you’re going on a long road trip, remember that dogs get just as bored as humans. Make sure to pack toys and treats for them. If you can, try to find a spill-proof water bowl so you don’t make a mess in your car.
Tip #3. Dogs car get car sick just like anyone else. Make some stops to ensure that your dog can walk around and get some fresh air. Also, if you do leave your car, make sure to never leave your dog alone when it’s incredibly hot or freezing cold.
Those are my quick tips on how to travel with your dog!
I might be jumping the gun on this, but I can’t stop thinking about summer! Picnics, hiking, swimming, tanning and road trips are just a few of my favorite summer activities. And summer activities and cars are meant to be together, just like French fries dipped in a chocolate milkshake (What? Tell me you do that too!) So to help you get excited for summer, I’ve come up with my top three cars for summer fun!
1. 2014 Nissan 370Z Roadster
Can’t you see yourself driving around town in this hot sports car!? The Nissan 370Z Roadster is meant for the adventurer that seeks luxury!
2. 2014 Toyota Prius C
It’s time for some fun road trips this summer, and the 2014 Toyota Prius C can take you anywhere you want to go! Don’t worry about spending too much money on gas when you get 53 city/46 hwy mpg!
3. 2015 Chevy Colorado

What is your favorite summer vehicle?
This overused motto couldn’t be more true in this situation.
My brother and I just spent the last 36 hours in Las Vegas at a General Motors/Chevy Convention. After checking through what felt like 16 security checkpoints, we filed in a room of 2,000-plus Chevy owners and general managers from around the nation.
Although I can’t divulge any specific information, I can
say that the Chevy lineup for 2013 and 2014 will be nothing short of amazing
I have never been more proud to be a part of Chevrolet!
What an amazing week of All-Star festivities!!! Way to go Kansas City!
Check out a little footage at the Red Carpet Parade down at the Country Club Plaza. I’m proud to be a part of Chevrolet and it’s partnership with the MLB and this year’s 2012 All Star Game!!!
Something cool is happening in KC!!!
Beginning Wednesday, May 20, a short documentary will shine some light on original local music through the stories of eight Kansas City area artists. We’ll go behind the scenes of a variety of KC venues for a glimpse of why and how these artists do what they do.
Follow the activity on Facebook.com/ChevyMusicKC
for local music promotions, contests, and fun new ways to interact with the bands.

I can hear the cheers and chants now; the smell of popcorn and sweat, the sound of whistles and buzzers. The thrill of the BIG 12 is just around the corner! Are you ready!?
From one basketball fan (and player) to another, we decided to contribute to the spirit of the tournament in a large way. McCarthy Chevrolet is offering up a brand new Chevrolet Corvette. On Friday, March 9, down in the Power & Light District Living Room, we will have a few contestants chosen at random to possibly take home that speedy devil!
You MUST register at the McCarthy Chevrolet dealership by March 7 to be entered (and at zero cost)!
I’ll see you downtown on Friday (with the shiny new ride)!!!!!
Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday to you. Happy Birthday Dear Chevy. Happy Birthday to you!
(If you could only hear me sing. Impressive!)
Who doesn’t love a birthday party, with birthday cake and birthday CARS? Starting today through Saturday, we are throwing a big birthday bash to celebrate Chevrolet’s centennial! Say that fast three times in a row!
Beginning today, at McCarthy Chevrolet, you can register to win kick-booty birthday presents, including restaurant certificates and tickets to sporting events. But even better, we’re giving away a brand new 2012 Camaro convertible. What? Did I hear that correctly? Yessir!
Tying into our “Rebuild Reading”
Kansas project, we will be including 10 tickets for selected winners to enter and win that red-hot sports car. And on Saturday, I will be drawing a name every 30 minutes from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. So, get in here and sign up to win!
Along with these party favors, we will be serving hot dogs, chips, drinks and cupcakes (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.). No clown this year, but we will have a face painter for the kiddos from 11 to 3! I’m thinking of being a cat!
And the best part includes our Ride & Drive. Here’s your chance to test drive the new Sonic, Volt, Camaro, Malibu, Traverse, Equinox, and Silverado.
Come celebrate 100 years! Eat, drink, ride, win! Happy Birthday, Chevrolet!
Ever wonder how cars are built and manufactured? If you’re one of those curious types who like to know the “how” behind every creation, pay attention!
I followed my dad to the Fairfax Plant last week, and I experienced first-hand the building process for the Chevy Malibu. Super cool!
A little history for you: The General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant is just down the street at Fairfax Trafficway, Kansas City, Kansas. This specific plant has been open since 1987 and currently produces two vehicles: the Chevrolet Malibu and the Buick LaCrosse. The operation runs 24 hours a day for 5 days straight and produces 1,300 cars a day! 1,300 cars day! Did you catch that?
Check out a little sneak peek inside the GM Fairfax Assembly Plant … (on the down low)
Just a heads up! September 23 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., the plant is open to the public … free of charge! More info to come.
Chevrolet and the Kansas City Royals have developed this awesome opportunity for local kids to be featured before every Sunday home game. This past weekend, the McCarthy Chevrolet and McCarthy-Morse Chevrolet chose two lucky boys to show off their stuff on the field!
Nathan Tai is seven years old and a big fan of baseball! He was paired up with 2nd baseman #13 Mike Aviles.
Nathan got his baseball autographed!
Along with Nathan, was Jack Stout. Jack not only showed off his smile on the Jumbo Tron, but met Slugger!
