Success Story – Beer for Bikes

February 15, 2011
The 2nd annual Beer for Bikes raised nearly $7,000 with 250 people in attendance. It has become our Young Variety signature event. Guests enjoyed sampling seven different kinds of Boulevard beer and wine, amazing snacks by Grand Street Cafe, and killer tunes by DJ Eric Coomes. Over 1,200 raffle tickets sold and great corporate sponsorships helped us exceed our fundraising goal. I love being a part of such a great group … having fun and giving back! Check out a little video explaining what we do and why!

Beer FOR Bikes flyer

So, I’ve joined this outstanding group of guys and gals called Young Variety. Our mission is to provide funds and awareness to local children with mental and physical disabilities. We’re a new and unique organization who enjoy interacting with Variety children and local social events. On Thursday, January 27th; we are hosting our 2nd annual Beer For Bikes event. This hip event will take place at the Boulevard Brewery from 5-8pm. The perfect happy hour for people who enjoy drinking a cold beer, mingling and giving back! Beer For Bikes is not only a chance to raise our mugs to a new year, but raise some money to purchase adaptive bikes for special needs children. Tickets are $25 in advance at www.varietykc.org or $30 at the door – and includes drinks, yummy appetizers provided by Grand Street Cafe, live music by DJ Eric Coomes and door prizes!!! Get your tickets now … and I look forward to tipping our mugs for a good cause!
