? Kansas City Car Shows: 2020 Edition

March 16, 2020
Kansas City Car Shows
It’s 2020: Where are the hordes of self-driving, hydrogen-powered cars we were promised? Instead, we live in the timeline that unleashed a global pandemic to shut down nearly every single Kansas City event. At least it held off until the 2020 KC Auto Show (March 4-8) was in the books. And thankfully there are still several great Kansas City car shows scheduled to keep our motors vroom-vrooming through summer! Check out my faves below (and be sure to keep tabs on any event cancellations or time changes). Stay safe out there.

Cars and Coffee at The Kansas City Auto Museum

Every 1st & 3rd Saturday – 8 AM to 10 AM

Join the entire Kansas City Automotive Museum gang for their bi-monthly Cars and Coffee event. Hosted right in front of the museum’s entrance, this fun car show features everything from custom hotrods to antique relics on wheels. Visitors also gain free admission to the museum (and yes, there is coffee).

Caffeine and Chrome at Gateway Classic Cars

Last Saturday of Each Month – 9 AM to Noon

That Kansas City Caffeine and Chrome car show is one of 17 monthly nationwide events. It’s open to the public, has no admission fee, and includes donuts, coffee and a whole lot of horsepower. I also implore you to explore Gateway’s museum of classic, exotic and muscle cars. Pets are welcome, too.

Rusty Wilder Memorial Cruise Night

Friday, June 19, 2020 – 2 PM to 9 PM

Re-live those high school years at this car show and cruise in Marshall, MO. Classic cars will be stationed at MACO on Odell Ave. Lawn chairs are optional but highly recommended – how else are you supposed to share your best “I remember when…” stories?

The Great Car Show

Sunday, July 19, 2020 – 10 AM to 3 PM

More than 3,500 visitors are estimated to attend this year’s The Great Car Show in Kansas City. Hosted at the National WWI Museum and Memorial, the car show will welcome nearly 450 unique vehicles from all across the country. It’s also a perfect Kansas City event for families as it’s packed with food trucks, games, entertainment and more.

American Royal BBQ Car Show

Saturday, September 19, 2020 – 9 AM to 2 PM

What better way to experience the BBQ Capital of the World than with a visit to the American Royal BBQ Car Show? (It just makes too much sense.) Hosted at the Kansas Speedway, this succulent Kansas City car show is part of an entire weekend of finger-licking fun. In addition to seeing some sweet rides, you’ll also get to sample some of the best BBQ the Midwest’s got to offer, listen to live local music, watch a rodeo, and then eat some more BBQ. Why can’t life be this good every day?

Guys and Gears Charity Car Show

Saturday, October 3, 2020 – 11 AM to 3 PM

The auto show’s tagline is: Life’s too short to drive boring cars. I concur. Visit Overland Park’s 7th annual Guys and Gears Charity Car Show in October to help support myeloma research and get a kick out of some awesome vehicles.
