    ladies in pink!!!!

As I sit here comfortably in my air conditioned office; I flirt with the idea of hitting the outdoors. Now, I enjoy a good sweat in my Pilates class, but taking that outside is another story. Whew!

This Saturday, July 30th is the annual WIN for KC Triathlon at Sailboat Cove Park on Smithville Lake, in Smithville, Missouri. The race will begin at 7:30am and consist of a 500 meter swim, 10 mile bike and 5K run.

I am excited to be a sponsor and cheer on the thousands of girls and women participating in this run! I will be their bright & early with my game face on (and sunscreen)!

At the end of the race, there will be an Awards Ceremony to honor the participants of the race and we’ll be giving away another Girlfriend Getaway.

For you swimmers, bikers and runners out there – here’s a few hot spots in town to do just that: Shawnee Mission Park Lake (swim, bike, run), Tomahawk Creek Trail (run, bike), Overland Park Arboretum (run, bike.) Can you think of any other good places to go?

    Touch-a-truck

BEEP BEEP! Ever dreamt of riding a combine, or honking the horn of a fire truck or perhaps just writing on your parent’s car? Yesterday would’ve been your day!

Sunday at the Overland Park Convention Center, families celebrated the second annual Touch-a-truck event; where kids were entertained up to their eyeballs with trucks, tractors, Funky Mama and face painting!

I was happy to be a presenting sponsor, allowing kids to check out some of our finest automobiles and simply just have fun!! A personal highlight of the day … seeing the Nissan Cube from start to finish after a long day of children’s artwork (erasable sharpees, of course)!

    Masterpiece!

Best part … Free to the public with just (2) non-perishable food donations to Harvesters. Check out more pics on my flickr account! And join us next year!

    at Indian Hills CC

Talk about making a big splash! Indian Hills won the title. For the past 24 years, Leawood South Country Club walked away #1 … but not this year. After three long days, I’m sure all the little swimmers (and parents) are in need of some R & R.

Ten clubs from around Kansas City gather in one location to share the same passion for the water. The purpose of CCSAKC (Country Club Swim Association of Kansas City) is to promote competitive swimming and diving along with the importance of sportsmanship…all which was very important to me growing up.

I was thrilled to be a sponsor this year. Not only was I impressed with the swimmer’s abilities, but the amount of attendees was outstanding — along with the fruit smoothies, flying airplanes, crazy costumes and screaming mama’s and papa’s. Ah, summer…

Congratulations to all the athletes this past weekend! Next stop…the WIN for KC Triathlon – more to come soon!

The new Murano Convertible was topic of conversation!!!

The boys are back in town!!!

Kansas City was packed with celebrities last weekend!  From the infamous “Mad Men’s” Jon Hamm, to “Talladega Night’s” David Koechner, to the voice in “Cars” Richard Kind; Harrah’s Casino was definitely a star struck event.

I was lucky to have a seat at the Poker Table next to “The Hangover’s” Matt Walsh … and although I only lasted three rounds, it was a game I will always remember.

After going “all in” and losing, I made my way to the bar with the 2006 World Series of Poker Champion, Jamie Gold to brush up on some Texas Hold ‘Em pointers. Oh, but it didn’t end there…

VooDoo Lounge opened it’s doors for the VIP Sponsor Party – where we were able to eat, drink and mingle with the rest of the ‘line up’. We welcomed back our hometown hosts for the evening, Paul Rudd and Rob Riggle, in hopes of creating enough hype to raise money for Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics. And following an array of comedy snippets and a stage full of hilarious actors, Tanna Guthrie slipped her ‘auctioning shoes’ on! We were able to raise over $211,000 between sponsorships, poker winnings and auction items.

What a great event for an even better cause. Thank you to all involved!

FYI – I’m already starting to work on my POKER FACE for next year!
