I’m so excited for the Fourth of July. There’s just something about that American pride that seems to burst from every single thing on Independence Day — the U.S. flags hanging everywhere, the people decked out in red, white and blue, and, of course, the fireworks.
Simply put, America is great, and its birthday deserves the best celebration possible — which Kansas City happily throws!
I did a little digging and found some great events tomorrow through the weekend that you should check out!
Independence Day: July 4th, 9 am-4:30 pm, FREE!; “Special activities by our professional staff and volunteers will delight the entire family. Period music, dance, children’s games and craft demonstrations will make you feel like you are in the 1850s! Don’t miss the annual parade as guests, interpreters and our own ox team stroll through the antebellum community celebrating our nation’s independence.”
KCRiverFest: July 4th, 4-11 pm, $5, children 12 and under are free!; LARGEST 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW IN THE REGION! “KCRiverFest is THE premiere Independence Day celebration in the region. Located on the Missouri Riverfront at beautiful Berkley Riverfront Park, KCRiverFest is a celebration of our culture, heritage and country.”
Celebrate America Fireworks Display: July 4-6, 10 pm, $19.99-$49.99; “Worlds of Fun lights up the sky with a huge fireworks show on Thursday, July 4, Friday, July 5th PLUS every Saturday in July! Please Note: On Thursday, July 4th, Worlds of Fun Avenue will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to Midnight. The pick-up and drop off area will be moved to Oceans of Fun’s parking area and will be accessible to guests of both parks.”
Red, White & Boom: (Psst! I’ll be at this one!) July 5, 5 pm, $15-$95; “Mix 93.3’s Red White & Boom featuring Carly Rae Jepsen, Emblem 3, MKTO, Hot Chelle Rae, and Stefano Langone. Fireworks after the show! This event is part of the 2013 Capitol Federal Concert Series at Starlight Theatre.
There you have it! Some of the best events to celebrate Independence Day! I truly hope you all have a magnificent holiday, and that you’ll remember the reason our country is so fantastic!
