What other car questions can I ask for you?

Over the past couple months, I have been working hard to get an insight into the car customer’s mind. I have posted questions, polls, read numerous comments, suggestions and stories, but it’s possible that I haven’t gotten to your question or concern about cars yet.

This project is about you. You make the “car world” go round. You are the reason we are here!

    It’s more a statement than a question. I always feel like I’m getting ‘ripped off’ whenever I walk into a car dealership. The sales people are always wheeling and dealing and it’s unprofessional. I want clear honest answers and I want them to ask me questions first before they start going on and on about features of a car that I care nothing about. Know the customer and what they want.

    Why do you feel like you’re getting “ripped off”? Is it simply the salesperson, the final figures, finance … ?
    I’m curious to know why and when you start to feel like you’re getting “ripped off”?
    I 100% agree with you on – “know the customer and what they want”. We go over a standard ‘sales track’ that outlines basic questions in a non-confrontational way. You HAVE to know your customer, understand their needs and LISTEN to them. The customer will tell you what they want, if salespeople just listen!

    The feeling of a ‘high pressure sale’ generates a feeling of unease, being ripped off if you will. Often with a car sale there is pressure to sign-now, this deal won’t be here tomorrow – that kind of thing. I know sales people are under a great deal of pressure to make a living and meet the company quota or they won’t have a job. And I’m sure customers come in ready for a battle, so it’s on both sides I imagine.

    Although I have not been to your dealership, so I do not have first-hand knowledge of McCarthy Auto.
