You are so right about that! There have been numerous articles written in regards to women's buying influence.
When trying to explain this 'campaign' to the rest of the sales team and managers at each of the stores...I had to explain in a way that somehow benefitted them - to help them understand. I shared many statistics and facts about women and car buying. For example, women either buy or influence the purchase of 85 percent of all new cars and trucks sold in the United States today.
So, learning to 'speak our language' is right on the money. Just like you said it "give respect and you will receive it" ... simple enough.
We want to differentiate the McCarthy group of dealerships from the rest of the pack. That is the whole goal behind this. So, thank you for sharing your stories.
I look forward to hearing more from you!

I've owned over a dozen cars and have purchased new and used. I will walk out of a dealership if I am spoken to rudely or treated like I am an ignorant female. I left Landmark Dodge once after observing a salesman scream and belittle a couple after the sale, actually calling them stupid and telling them there was no way he was going to pay for something that should have been his responsibility based on the conversation I heard. No way do I want to do business with someone that treats me like crap AFTER they get my money!

I've purchased 4 cars from Blue Springs Ford over the last 10 years and they have always treated me well, both before and after the sale. My family (including myself) have also bought several times from Independence Honda with good results. They did have a service advisor who was very rude and "fresh" with the female customers...but he didn't last long!

Men need to understand that most of the time it's the women who influence or make the entire buying decisions when it comes to car purchases and they need to learn to speak our language! We also complain the loudest when the product isn't right...give respect and you will receive it!
